Councillor Rob Ford Endorses McNaughton for PC Leader

Former Mayor of Toronto stands with Monte McNaughton’s conservative vision for Ontario

(Toronto, ON) –Today former Mayor of Toronto Rob Ford endorsed MPP Monte McNaughton as his candidate to become Ontario PC Party leader.

“I’m supporting Monte McNaughton because he’s a family man – he’s the conservative in the PC leadership race. He will help the little guy and defend the taxpayer,” said Ford, who was Toronto’s Mayor from 2010 until 2014.

McNaughton, a two-term MPP from Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is the only PC Leadership candidate who has stood-up to Kathleen Wynne’s proposed new sex-education curriculum by demanding that the government disclose the contents immediately for all parents to see.

“I’m excited to welcome Rob Ford to the campaign and I look forward to working with him in the weeks and months ahead,” said McNaughton. “Rob Ford understands how to win in Toronto and I couldn’t imagine a better boost for my campaign in the G.T.A.”

Every member of the Ontario PC Party will be able to vote for PC leader this coming May, and the deadline to become a member is February 28. Memberships cost $10 and can be purchased online at www.Monte.ca.
